Hill Country UT Internship Program 2010-2011

At Hill Country UT we...

….have a very small staff and we move very fast.

… juggle multiple ministries and projects at the same time.

….keep a lightening speed pace.

….help each other and do things not listed in our job descriptions.

….work hard, but we also rest and pray hard.

….lean on Jesus.

….try to love each other well.

….repent often, laugh often, and try to have authentic community with each other.

….long for our people to know Jesus and to be on mission with him.

….long for Christ to be known on the campus.

….feel called by God to reach the campus.

….think we have the best jobs in the world!

This is a 12-hour weekly position. Two of those hours will be spent in training. The other ten will be ministry hours with one of our ministry teams.  You'll be planning and implementing events, following up and connecting with new students, advertising, promoting and communicating to our church and the campus, and helping people know him and move people on mission! You will also be personally trained and mentored by our staff.

The intern positions that we have available are:

1. Communications Interns

The goal of the communication team is to utilize the church's communication mediums (website, email, facebook, print media, projectors, fliers, promotional materials, art galleries, etc.) to communicate God's heart for His church and His desire for all believers to know the gospel and make it known. We create the Hill Country UT brand and give visibility to our church on the UT campus as well.

  • Advertising
  • Comm Administration
  • Art
  • Graphics
  • Writing/Editing

2. Tech/Website Interns

This is a part of our overall Creative Arts ministry. The tech and website team help serve the church by providing an environment that communicates and encourages affections for the gospel. This is where music, art, technology, and preaching come together to serve and edify the church.

  • Tech Intern: oversees all technical aspects in facility, helps with different projects (mounting projectors, running cables, working with lights, etc.), oversees visual tech and lighting teams, helps keep all technology organized, maintained, and well-stocked.
  • IT/Website Intern: point person for office IT issues and oversees the technical side of website, helps and facilitates updating of website with content, videos, etc.

3. Connections

These interns follow up with student visitors to the church and get them connected to ministries and connection groups. They provide important resources to the church and make people feel like they have a part in the church. To put it succinctly, this team is the face of our church!

4. Missions

Help mobilize our church into short-term cross-cultural experiences that will lead to missional living on the campus

5. Missional Communities

Help mobilize and resource our church to help us reach the campus through our missional movement.

6. Events

Brainstorm ideas for churchwide events and outreaches throughout the year (this includes big and small events from game/movie nights at the church to lake/ski trips), recruit other students to help set up and tear down events, set up for 405 service and regroup/connection groups and overall- we make stuff happen!

7. Operations

Working with the Chief of Ministry Operation [Executive Pastor] on church administration projects, longterm planning and scheduling, as well as financial practices (budgeting, budget forecast and modeling) and business development/management.
