Sin is dark. Sin is bondage. Sin is when we turn away from God and go our own way. Sin is a prison that we are ALL born into. Sin leads only to death.
God is light. God is life. God is freedom in the midst of the death of sin. God cannot exist with sin because, by definition, it is in direct contradiction to Him.
God created us for relationship with Himself but we were born into sin. The chasm between God and us was bottomless and hopeless. It could not be bridged unless something all-powerful, all-fulfilling and perfect could fill it. Because sin separates us from God, He came up with a way for us to be with Him again through Jesus.
Jesus, the one true Son of God, willingly came down to earth in order to die for your sin. Through the shedding of His blood (which covers your sin) and his resurrection (which conquered your sin), a way has been made for us to, once again, enter into the presence of the one true living God.
Jesus is light. Jesus is life. Jesus died that you might have life and have it abundantly.
The choice is yours.
“Now I would remind you, brothers, of the gospel I preached to you, which you received, in which you stand, and by which you are being saved, if you hold fast to the word I preached to you—unless you believed in vain. For I delivered to you as of first importance what I also received: that Christ died for our sins in accordance with the Scriptures, that he was buried, that he was raised on the third day in accordance with the Scriptures . . .” -1 Corinthians 15:1–4
